Cocaine seized, Alaska man arrested

JUNEAU, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers reported Wednesday that they arrested a 20-year-old man after seizing a pound of cocaine during a search of his home near North Douglas Highway.

Greg O. Brown was charged with one count of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance after his arrest Monday.

On Sunday, Petersburg, Alaska police officers contacted a passenger aboard the Alaska state ferry Malaspina, seizing cocaine that officers determined to be destined for Juneau, Alaska. Alaska investigators delivered the drug to its intended recipient before serving the warrant.

In addition to other evidence, a .45-caliber gun was seized during the search, Alaska troopers reported.

The pound of cocaine could have been divided into more than 1,300 doses, according to the report.

In addition to troopers and the Petersburg, Alaska police, the investigation and arrest involved Juneau, Alaska police, the Alaska Bureau of Wildlife Enforcement and Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs.
